Technical Product Manager
Tassel is a profitable and growing edtech startup that serves as the behind-the-scenes software powering graduation ceremonies across most universities and colleges in the US - everything from registration, ticketing, check in & automated name reading - we’ve been doing that for over 20 years for our customers who are some of the largest and most prestigious universities in the world like UC Berkeley, UCLA, University of Texas, Texas A&M, Stanford, Arizona State, USC, NYU, UPenn, and hundreds more.
Tassel is a 100% remote company (and has been wayyy before COVID) and as such, we build in the open. Transparency is the underpinning of our culture and how we act as employees and how we serve our customers. We are on the lookout for passionate individuals that love education and are eager to drive growth and make an impact. If you're self-driven, and enthusiastic about pushing boundaries in the edtech space, we could be the perfect match for you.
We are seeking a Technical Product Manager with a strong computer science background to help drive the development of AI-powered and automation-driven products. This role is ideal for someone passionate about AI, TTS/STS models, OCR/Computer Vision, E-commerce and API integrations—someone who can bridge the gap between technical execution and product strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with engineers to define technical product requirements, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Conduct research and analysis on OCR, Computer Vision, and AI-driven automation to improve name-reading accuracy, facial recognition, and document processing.
- Assist in designing and implementing API integrations with third-party platforms to enhance Tassel’s product ecosystem.
- Work on GTM automation initiatives, streamlining product operations through AI-driven solutions.
- Analyze and interpret data from experiments, A/B tests, and customer feedback to inform product decisions.
- Work cross-functionally with marketing, sales, and engineering teams to deliver high-impact features on time.
What We're Looking For:
- BS/MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- Passion for AI, speech models and automation technologies.
- Strong technical acumen and ability to work closely with engineering teams.
- Experience with APIs and integrations (REST, GraphQL, or similar).
- Experience with C#, JavaScript, ASP.NET MVC, Linq, SQL Server, Azure, and a Microsoft web stack.
- A willingness to learn and tackle challenges in MS applications and SQL databases.
- Analytical mindset with a keen eye for data-driven decision-making.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience in AI, automation, or edtech products is a plus but not required.
